Baking Cakes for THINK18

The weather couldn’t have been better despite the horrendous rain whilst setting up the stand the day before.

We arrived early to set up the cakes on Sunday morning at 7.30am at Fairoaks One DayEvent for the pony club. A big thank-you to Christine and Julie whose creativity was next to none, and turned up early, the display of cakes was deliciously inviting and looked stunning, too tempting for passers by to ignore.

Throughout the day we sold cup cakes, carrot and courgette cake, rock roads, rice crispy cakes, gluten free cakes, chocolate cakes and even held a secret auction for a beautifully decorated cake, baked by my neighbour Sarah.

Various friends helped at 2 hourly intervals and we had some of our young adults helping sell and eat the goods (:

Alongside cakes we sold a few items of THINK18 branded clothing such as aprons, sweat shirts and hoodies along with some T-shirts which proved popular.

We made over £500 for THINK18 a huge thank-you for everyone who helped. Of course we always want more volunteers so please get in touch if you can help on the odd occasion.
